Call Drop: You must also be troubled by call drop on the phone, when will you get rid of it? This is the latest update

Mobile Call Drop Cases: While talking on the phone, you too must have been troubled by call drops at some time or the other. Recently, the Department of Telecommunications has asked the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to tighten the quality of service standards to curb call drops and improve call quality. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has been asked to tighten the standards related to it to remove complaints about the quality of phone calls. Latest update has come on this.

It is difficult for telecom companies to report call drops at the state level because of the many administrative and ground-level ‘difficulties’ involved. The Cellular Operators Association of India, the body of mobile operators, has said this recently. The body said that LSA (License Service Area) reporting should continue instead.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in a review meeting last week had asked telecom operators to share call drop data at the state level as well. The order was passed amid rising cases of service quality issues and consumer complaints. COAI Director General SP Kochhar said that TRAI has been requested to ‘reconsider’ this move and continue reporting on LSA basis.

Members of COAI include Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea. Kochhar said that the telecom operators are fully committed to provide the best services to the customers, but there are many administrative problems in providing state-wise call drop data. Also, it also includes aspects like cost and time. (with language input)
