Ingredients to make Dal Makhani
Rajma – half cup
Chana dal – half cup
Whole Urad Dal – 1 cup
Milk – 1/2 cup
Butter – 3 tbsp
Mee – 4 tbsp
Tomato chopped – 2
Onion chopped – 1
Green chili chopped – 3
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin – 1/2 tsp
Cloves – 3
Kasuri fenugreek – 1 tbsp
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Garam masala – 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Kashmiri red chili – 1/2 tsp
Dry mango – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 4 tbsp
salt – as per taste

How to make Dal Makhani
To make hotel-like dal makhani, first take Rajma, chana dal and urad da, clean them thoroughly and soak them all in water and keep them for 5 to 6 hours. After the fixed time, remove the lentils and kidney beans from the water and wash them once again with clean water. After this, put gram, urad and kidney beans all three in a pressure cooker and add 4-5 cups of water. Now put milk, turmeric, red chilli powder and salt as per taste in the cooker, cover the lid and take 5-6 whistles in the cooker.

After the whistles, turn off the gas and let the pressure of the cooker release. After the pressure is over, open the lid of the cooker and mix the dal and rajma well by mashing them with a ladle. Now put oil in a pan and heat it. After the oil is hot, add cumin, asafoetida and cloves and fry. After a few seconds add ginger-garlic paste and fry it. Now add finely chopped onions and green chillies and cook it. After the onion becomes soft, add finely chopped tomatoes and cover the pan and cook.

When the tomatoes and onions become soft, add Kashmiri red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and dry mango powder. Now put dal-rajma in the pan and cover it and let it boil for 5-7 minutes. You can also add some water as needed. When the lentils boil, turn off the gas. Now garnish the dal with cream, butter, kasoori methi and coriander leaves. Tasty Dal Makhani is ready. Serve it in lunch or dinner.
