Businessman Sambhav Jain alias Shobi, who runs a hosiery factory in Ludhiana Nurwala Road area, was abducted by unidentified persons on Friday night. The accused called Sambham’s wife and demanded cash and jewellery. After this, they kept driving Jain around the city for about two-three hours.
After this, the police laid a trap to nab the accused. When the accused got the information that they were caught in the police trap, they shot Sambhav in the thigh and threw him near Jagraon bridge and fled from there in his car. After receiving the information, Tarun Jain Bawa along with Sambham’s family reached there and admitted him to DMC Hospital. Currently Jain’s condition is out of danger.
Sambhav Jain, nephew of Prem Sagar Jain, owner of the famous Sharmanji Fabrics and owner of Jain Hosiery, owns a hosiery factory on Noorwala Road. Where hosiery is manufactured. He had left the factory in his Kia car between eight and nine o’clock on Friday night.
At some distance, some youths on bikes hit him. After the collision, when Sambhav tried to talk to the accused, the accused showed their weapons and abducted Sambhav in his car.
The accused called Sambham’s wife from the same phone and told her that if she wants her husband’s life, she should collect all the cash and jewelery in the house and prepare to give it to them. The accused said that they will make the next call soon and after that they will tell the place where the cash is to be given. The frightened wife informed all the family members and informed businessman Tarun Jain Bawa, who immediately informed the police and himself led the police in pursuit of the robbers.
The accused who kidnapped businessman Sambhav Jain instead of taking him anywhere kept driving him around in his car. The culprits roamed the area for about two to three hours. When they realized that the police were following them, they shot Sambhav Jain in the thigh and escaped by throwing him near the Jagraon bridge.
According to sources, the accused had asked Sambham’s wife to bring a bag full of money and jewelery to Jagraon Bridge. So the accused was in the vicinity of Jagraon Bridge. As soon as the police came to know about it, they shot and killed Sambham. Everyone started trying to save the possible and the accused escaped after seeing the opportunity. According to police sources, the accused were chased for a long distance but they escaped.
The kidnapping incident of businessman Sambhav Jain was done with complete planning. The accused had complete information about where Sahib lives and where his factory is located. At what time does Sambhav Jain come to the factory and what time does he leave for home? The accused also knew at what time Sahib goes alone.
When Sambhav left the factory at night, the accused took advantage of the opportunity and carried out the incident. Sources say that the accused had stopped their accomplices near the house of Sambhav Jain for Reiki so that they could monitor the movements of the family members. After which the accused succeeded in carrying out the incident.
ACP North Sumit Sood said that the condition of businessman Sambhav Jain is fine. Information about who the kidnappers were has not yet been found. Several teams have been formed by the Commissionerate Police to solve this matter. All teams are busy working on different theories.
The senior officials themselves are busy on this matter. After questioning the possible, the CCTV camera footage of many areas is being examined. Soon they will be traced and arrested. Currently, a case has been registered in Basti Jodhewal police station.
