The latest information related to the Hockey Junior World Cup has come out. India will start their campaign against South Korea in Group C on December 5, the opening day of the FIH Junior Hockey World Cup-2023. The tournament will be held from December 5 to 16 at the Bukat Jalil National Hockey Stadium in Malaysia.
The Indian team, which finished fourth in the last World Cup played in 2021 in Bhubaneswar, got an easy draw in the group stage of the tournament. According to the draw, Group C includes India and South Korea apart from Spain and Canada. India will play Spain on December 7 and Canada on December 9. The tournament program was officially announced today at a function at the Mercury Living Hotel in Putrajaya.
According to the schedule, hosts Malaysia, Argentina, Australia and Chile have been placed in Group-A, while Group-B includes Germany, France, South Africa and Egypt. Group D consists of teams from Netherlands, Belgium, Pakistan and New Zealand. The groups are classified based on the FIH Junior World Rankings, the sport’s apex body said in a press statement.
