Helpline number to deal with snakes has been released

Incidents of snakes coming out of houses after the flood waters recede are constantly being reported. To deal with this situation, according to the order of Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni, a help line number 8253900002 has been issued by forming a Rapid Response Team by the Divisional Forest Officer (Wildlife), Patiala.

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that due to the flood situation, humans as well as all creatures are in danger. According to the criteria of natural justice, all living beings are entitled to help. Snakes are also in crisis due to their continuous stay in water and are looking for safe places for themselves. In such a situation, they are entering residential houses.
He appealed that people should call the snake helpline and get the snake rescued instead of panicking and harming themselves or the snake.

He said that on calling the helpline, the wildlife department team will immediately reach the spot, catch the snake and release it in a safe place. He also said that very few snakes are poisonous in Patiala region. Therefore, instead of panicking on getting a snake bite, immediately reach Rajindra Hospital or a nearby health center for treatment.
