HCL CEO Vijaykumar’s salary is Rs 123 crore, know the package of CEO of big IT companies

The IT industry in the country has grown rapidly in the last two decades. Big companies in this sector include Tata Consultancy Service (TCS), Infosys and HCL. The CEOs at the helm of these companies have to face challenges related to business and for this they also get hefty packages. The CEO of HCL, C Vijaykumar ranks first among the highest paid chief executives in this sector. He got a package of around Rs 123 crore last year.

HCL Recently, in its annual report, Vijayakumar’s package Information was given. Vijayakumar had joined HCL in 1994 and was made the company’s CEO about seven years ago after serving in various positions for over two decades. Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte is second in this list. His last year package was Rs 79.80 crore. This included salary of over Rs 13 crore and allowances, commission and variable pay of Rs 19.3 crore and other incentives of Rs 31.8 crore.

Salil Parekh of Global IT company Infosys is at the third place in this list. According to Infosys’ annual report, Parekh’s salary in the last financial year increased by nearly 43 per cent to Rs 71.02 crore. This includes Restricted Stock Units (RSU) worth over Rs 52 crore. Prior to joining Infosys, Parekh was with Capgemini for nearly 26 years.

Tech Mahindra’s CEO, CP Gurnani got a package of Rs 63.4 crore last year. His package was increased by 189 percent. Tech Mahindra stated in its annual report that his package included stock compensation benefits apart from salary. Rajesh Gopinathan, chief executive of the country’s largest IT company TCS, is at the fifth position in this list. Last year he got a package of around Rs 26 crore. This included salary of Rs 1.5 crore, benefits and allowances of Rs 2.25 crore and commission of Rs 22 crore. The company last year re-appointed Gopinathan as chief executive for a five-year term. Prior to this, he has also held the responsibility of Chief Financial Officer in TCS.
