A marathon will now be organized in the last week of February every year in Gurugram, Haryana. Chief Minister Manohar Lal announced this at the launch of Run for Zero Hunger Marathon this morning. Meanwhile, cricketer Shikhar Dhawan was also present with him. Both flagged off the 'Gurugram Marathon 2024' on Sunday. 40 thousand people have registered for this marathon in different categories.
Gurugram Marathon 2024 Updates
Among them, maximum 30 thousand people have registered for the five km fun run. Prizes will also be awarded to the youngest runners and the oldest runners in the marathon. Cultural programs will start from 4 am and continue till 10 am. DC Nishant Kumar Yadav said that a medical area has been constructed at the marathon site. There will be specialists for physiotherapy in the medical field. If a runner needs any stretching he can do it here. Apart from this, medical stations have been constructed at every two kilometers distance. Where people can seek medical help. People will also be able to check their blood pressure etc. DC said that refreshments have been arranged for all the runners. For this, counters have been installed at different places. Refreshments will include energy drinks and other food items. Runners will receive this after completing the race.
In addition to runners certificate And medals will also be given. The DC said that for those who could not register online, a registration counter has been opened on the spot. Both male and female winners will be awarded cash prizes. In the full marathon, the first runner-up will be given Rs 1.5 lakh, the second runner-up Rs 1 lakh and the third runner-up Rs 75,000. After this, the master i.e. the fourth person will be given 50 thousand rupees in cash. Along with this, 1 lakh rupees will be given to the first comer for the half marathon, 75 thousand rupees for the second, 50 thousand rupees for the third and 40 thousand rupees for the master. For the timed run of 10 km, the prize of Rs 50,000 for the first runner-up, Rs 30,000 for the second runner-up and Rs 20,000 for the third runner-up has been awarded.
