Village Nawan Pind Sardars of District Gurdaspur, Punjab has registered its success at the national level in the field of rural tourism. On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Union Ministry of Tourism honored the Best Tourism Village of India 2023 Award at the Launch Global Travel for Life event.
Registered his name in 35 villages of India
Nawan village Sardars of Gurdaspur have been selected for this prestigious award. This village has taken an unprecedented step to preserve the culture and heritage of Punjab and develop heritage tourism. Among the 35 villages selected from across India for this award, this village has registered its name. A total of 750 villages from 31 states/UTs applied for the competition. The application was made for recognition as the best village in the tourism sector of India.

He further said that the villagers have taken care of ancestral heritage havelis with the coordination and guidance of Tourism Department Punjab and developed them as popular tourist destinations with continuous efforts.
