Gandhiji calmly listened to the boy and explained to him, “I was just testing you. All jobs are equal for those who serve the country. No task is too big or too small for a service provider. A servant serves.
Another inspiring incident is related to Gandhiji. He often traveled long distances. Once he was traveling in a train. When the train stopped at the station, Gandhiji got down for a while. A crowd of people gathered there after seeing Gandhiji. Gandhiji was surrounded by a crowd and his train started moving.
After leaving the crowd, Gandhiji quickly got into his coach, but one of his slippers fell down and landed under the train between the tracks. As the train was moving, Gandhiji stood at the gate of the coach and began to think and then immediately threw his other slipper there as well.
A person watching this asked Gandhiji why he threw the second slipper?
Gandhiji said, “One of my slippers has fallen and one slipper is left with me, so I thought that now this slipper is of no use to me, so I have also thrown the other slipper here, so that if Find someone.” If he gets both slippers then they will be useful for him.
In this story, Mahatma Gandhiji has given a message that if we are suffering for some reason but still we can do good to someone, then we should not back down from that work.
