Full body scanners will be installed in jails, mobile phones and drugs will not be able to enter

Incidents of mobile phones being found in Punjab jails have come to light. Due to which, the management of prisons has also been continuously questioned. According to the information, after the strictness of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Punjab Police has finally decided to increase the security of the jails.

Now, on the lines of airports, X-ray based full body scanners and other equipment will be installed in jails. After this, no person will be able to carry drugs, mobile or any other thing concealed in the body. This entire process will be completed within 3 months.

According to the information, the police will start the work of increasing the security in the prisons in February with the help of a private company. The police will act as the nodal agency in the project. Work on the project will begin by the end of February. Apart from this, nets will also be installed in the jails to prevent the incidents of bringing goods from outside.

Let us tell you that the matter of security of Punjab jails is under hearing in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The High Court clearly says that negligence in this cannot be tolerated at any cost. The High Court had asked the police for a plan to improve the security of jails.

After this now the police has started working in this direction. A committee of senior officials has been formed for this project, which is monitoring all this work. Along with this, the police have now to submit their progress report in this case on February 7 in the High Court.
