Farmers will get uninterrupted power supply for eight hours during paddy sowing season: Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO

Paddy Sowing Season: In order to ensure adequate supply of electricity to farmers during the paddy sowing season, Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, besides inaugurating a 66 KV substation at village Burmi, laid the foundation stone of a new 66 KV substation at Giddarwindi along with a 10.6 km line. Dedicated to the people.

Meanwhile Harbhajan Singh along with ETO, MLA from Jagraon Sarvjit Kaur Manunke, MLA from Raikot Hakam Singh Thekedar, Director Distribution PSPCL Eng DPS Grewal, Chief Engineer Distribution Central Zone (PSPCL), Eng SR Vashisht, Chief Engineer Transmission Line Eng Inderjit Singh and SE Sub-Urban Ludhiana Inj Jagdev Hans was also present.

On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan is committed to provide standard, reliable and uninterrupted power supply to all sections of the consumers of Punjab. ETO disclosed that a new 12.5 MVA power transformer has been installed for this new 66 KV sub station Giddarwindi and a new 6.5 km 66 KV transmission line has been laid for this sub station. The total cost of this project was Rs 409.47 lakh.

The power minister further said that this sub-station will help in reducing the load of 66 KV sub-station Sidhwan Bet and 66 KV sub-station Kishanpura. This will increase electricity supply to many other villages including Giddarwindi, Lodhiwal, Tihara, Malsian Bajan, Sodhiwal, Janetpura, Sherewal, Kanniy Hussaini, Parjian, Bahadurke and Safipura.

Further, taking into account the power supply to 66 KV sub-station Sidhwan Bet through a single source – 220 KV sub-station Jagraon, a new 10.6 km long 66 KV Sidhwan Bet-Bhundri transmission line has been constructed by the department at a cost of Rs.244.5 lakhs. has been laid Now, this new 66kV link substation will act as a backup supply for the Siddhawan Bet. With which the power supply of the sub station Sidhwan Bet will not be affected even after cutting the power supply from the 220 KV sub station Jagraon. In this way, 24 hours electricity supply will be provided to all the villages.

Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO also visited Barmi village of Raikot and dedicated the new 66 KV sub station to the people. He said that a new 8.0/10.0 MVA power transformer has been installed at this sub station and 11 KV transmission line has been laid. The total cost of this project is Rs 3.86 crore.

He said that this sub station will help reduce the load of 66 KV Substation Raikot and 66 KV Substation Pakhowal which will benefit 20000 consumers of 15 villages. He said that this 66 KV sub station Burmi will directly benefit Nurpura, Tajpur, Kaile, Burj Littan, Gondwal, Halwara and other nearby villages.

8 hours uninterrupted power supply to farmers during paddy sowing season

Harbhajan Singh said that continuous efforts are being made by the government to improve the services and in this paddy sowing season, the government will ensure uninterrupted power supply to the farmers for 8 hours.

The Power Minister reviewed the preparations in this regard and directed the concerned officials to check all the transformers and transmission lines and if there is any fault, to remove it immediately.

The Punjab Cabinet Minister while sharing the timing details of power supply for direct sowing of paddy from May 20 to May 31 said that each agricultural feeder will be given eight hours power supply on alternate days.

DSR regions are divided into groups

He said that the DSR areas have been divided into groups. He said that Khanna, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and Tarn Taran areas under Group A1 (A) and Ferozepur, Barnala and Malerkotla areas under Group A1 (B) will be provided uninterrupted supply for 8 hours from 8 am to 4 pm.

He said that similarly Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana (City and Sub-Urban) in Group A2 (A) and Sangrur, SBS Nagar (Nawanshahr) in Group A2 (B) will get power supply from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm. .

While Group B1 (A) including Faridkot, Moga, Amritsar (City and Sub-Urban) and Group B1 (B) including Sri Muktsar Sahib, Fazilka, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Ropar will get power supply from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.

Meanwhile, uninterrupted supply will be provided to the International Border Area Group (feeders across the barbed wire) and areas- Patiala, Kapurthala, Bathinda and Mansa from 9 am to 5 pm.
