Ex-Chief Engineer of Gamada and ex-employee of PSEB 7 years imprisonment

Surinderpal Singh Pahlwan, the former chief engineer of Gamada, nominated by Vigilance, and his partner Labh Singh, who was posted in PSEB, have been convicted and sentenced to 7 years in the Mohali court. Another accused KK Bhandari was also nominated in this case who died during the trial of a CUS posted in PSEB.

Accused Surinderpal Singh Pehlwan has been given punishment for taking government job on fake documents and Labh Singh for helping Pehlwan in preparing these fake documents.

Vigilance had registered FIR No. 8 against the three in the year 2017. Surinder Pahlwan’s date of birth was 1967 while Pahlwan along with Punjab School Education Board officers Labh Singh and KK Bhandari had changed his date of birth to 1971 in his official documents. Thus the wrestler himself proved himself 4 years younger to get a government job.

On getting a government job, he first joined the Punjab Mandi Board in 1993. After this, he came to Gamada on deputation and was posted here as Chief Engineer. After it was revealed in the year 2017, Vigilance started its investigation, in which Vigilance proceeded with the investigation by registering a case against him.
