Chandigarh: Due to the unseasonal rains in March, the farmers have suffered huge losses. In this case, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will give checks for the compensation amount to the affected farmers today. He will go to Abohar today and hand over checks of compensation amount per acre to the affected farmers.

CM Bhagwant Mann tweeted that today is a historic day. He wrote that the compensation for the crop damaged due to rain and hail has started to be received within 20 days from today. He wrote that the damaged crop is still lying in the fields but the compensation amount has started depositing in the bank accounts.

However, CM Mann will not be able to give compensation to all the affected farmers. Because the girdawari patwari of the farmers of most of the districts could not be done by other officials. This is the reason why Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal released a video a day before the Chief Minister’s visit to Abohar to try to calm farmers’ anger.

In fact, the Mann government had announced to complete the Girdavari process in a week after the loss of crops. But till now no official has arrived for the Girdavari of the farmers of most of the districts.

Farmers of 16 districts have filed complaints

Most of the farmers of Punjab are upset due to lack of Girdavari. This is the reason why farmers of 16 districts have filed their complaints with Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal within two days. Farmers have sent complaints to the minister’s WhatsApp number (93093-88088). But due to CM Mann’s program in Abohar today to give checks of compensation amount to farmers, Agriculture Minister Dhaliwal had to release the video a day earlier. He has assured the farmers to complete the process of Girdavari soon.

Apart from this, if the central government imposed any cut on the farmer yesterday, the Punjab government will give the cut amount. He had tweeted on his social media account that the cut in the price of wheat by the central government due to the moisture in the grain and the small grain will be borne by the Punjab government. Will not be allowed to come…we stand together in every difficult time…’
