Ludhiana Gas Leak case: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has started the hearing of the Ludhiana gas leak case. The NGT has issued a notice taking note of the media reports, the hearing of this matter will be held today in the NGT. After which an 8-member fact-finding committee has been formed.

Which will be headed by the Chairman of Punjab Pollution Board. The committee consists of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Industrial Toxicology Research Centre, Director of PGI Chandigarh, NDRF, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana and North Regional Director of Municipal Corporation Ludhiana.

The State Pollution Control Board will coordinate the entire matter and implement the orders. The committee will meet every week and submit a report after completing the investigation in a month.

The government should give Rs 20 lakh each to the dependents of the deceased.

The NGT has said to give 20 lakh each to the deceased. The NGT says that usually Rs 20 lakh is paid on death for such incidents. Injured are compensated on the basis of injury. NGT says that if not found guilty in this case, then the government will have to pay this amount to the victims. This amount can be recovered from the accused if found guilty.

NGT’s main focus on gas leaks
NGT’s main focus is on this. It will also be checked that what is the level of poisonous gas in the air in an area of ​​5 km now. The NGT feels that this leak did not happen in a day, so it is necessary to go to the root of it. This team will also talk to local people about it. The next hearing of the case will be held on July 13.
