Jalandhar: Due to the rains in Punjab for the last three days, the situation is getting worse and almost half of the Punjab has been affected by floods. Meanwhile, a big hole in the Dhusi dam of the Sutlej river between village Mandala and Nasirpur near Giddar Pindi village of Lohian block of Jalandhar district, which has not been filled despite all efforts, due to which the dam has broken at 12.40 pm. Similarly, the embankment of the Sutlej river has also broken at 2 am near village Mundi Shahriyan. It is to be mentioned here that in 2019, the same bun was broken from the downstream side of Mandala village, which has recently broken from the upstream side of Mandala village.
Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal has shared a video in this regard and in a tweet has written – the water in Sutlej river beyond its capacity has broken the Dhusi dam at two places.
