Jalandhar: Due to the rains in Punjab for the last three days, the situation is getting worse and almost half of the Punjab has been affected by floods. Dozens of animals have also been affected by heavy rain and water flow. Apart from the Ghaggar and Sutlej rivers, the situation in many districts has become uncontrollable due to the sudden rise in the water level in the Sirhind Canal.

Meanwhile, a big hole in the Dhusi dam of the Sutlej river between village Mandala and Nasirpur near Giddar Pindi village of Lohian block of Jalandhar district, which has not been filled despite all efforts, due to which the dam has broken at 12.40 pm. Similarly, the embankment of the Sutlej river has also broken at 2 am near village Mundi Shahriyan. It is to be mentioned here that in 2019, the same bun was broken from the downstream side of Mandala village, which has recently broken from the upstream side of Mandala village.

Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal has shared a video in this regard and in a tweet has written – the water in Sutlej river beyond its capacity has broken the Dhusi dam at two places. According to the information, one tear occurred around 12.40 pm and the other tear occurred around 2 am.
