A hearing will be held today in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in the Punjab drug racket case worth thousands of crores of rupees. The High Court has issued a notice to the Punjab government on February 15 and sought its response on the petition filed to open the sealed report of the investigation of the police officers involved in the drug racket.

Along with this, the Punjab government has to answer what action was taken on the report opened in the High Court on the last hearing. During the previous hearing, the High Court had ordered the Punjab government to take necessary action by opening the sealed reports related to this case. The last hearing in the High Court has started in the bench of Justice GS Sandhawalia and Justice Harpreet Kaur Jeevan.

During the hearing that lasted for about two hours, the bench was given complete information about the matter. Also, four reports related to the case, which were sealed with the Registrar (Judicial) in the High Court, were opened by ED officer Niranjan Singh, Special Task Force, Nirmal Jeet Kalsi.

The High Court resealed these reports and ordered the Registrar (Judicial) of the High Court to give photocopies of all these reports to the government and directed the government to submit the action report to the High Court.
