ED has summoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning on November 2 in the liquor policy case. In this case, Kejriwal was questioned by the CBI for about 9.5 hours in April. Meanwhile, 56 questions were asked to Kejriwal. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and AAP MP Sanjay Singh are in jail in the liquor policy case.

Kejriwal had said – we have nothing to hide

After being questioned by the CBI, Kejriwal had said that he had answered all the questions asked by the CBI. We have nothing to hide.

He had said that this whole alleged liquor scam is motivated by lies, fakes and dirty politics. AAP is a completely honest party. We will die but never compromise our integrity. They want to destroy AAP but the people of the country are with us.

The Supreme Court has dismissed Manish Sisodia’s bail plea
The Supreme Court on Monday (October 30) refused to grant bail to former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who has been in jail for 247 days. AAP leader Sisodia has been accused of corruption and money laundering in Delhi’s liquor policy. He was arrested on February 26.

While pronouncing the verdict, a bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice SVN Bhatti said – Many questions related to the scam are yet to be answered. Of these, a transaction of Rs 338 crore has taken place, in which Sisodia’s role seems doubtful. Hence the petition is dismissed.

The court has also directed the investigating agencies to complete the hearing in 6 to 8 months. Sisodia can again appeal for bail within 3 months if the trial is delayed. Earlier, after hearing the arguments of all the parties on October 17, the court reserved the decision till October 30.

What has happened so far in the case of Sisodia

The Delhi government implemented the policy on November 17, 2021 but canceled it in late September 2022 amid allegations of corruption.
Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26. He has been in custody since then. The ED arrested him on March 9 after interrogating him in Tihar jail in a money laundering case related to a CBI FIR. After this, on February 28, Sisodia resigned from the Delhi Cabinet.
The Delhi High Court had on May 30 denied bail to Sisodia in the CBI case, saying that as Deputy Chief Minister and Excise Minister, he was a high profile person who had the ability to influence witnesses.
On July 3, the Delhi High Court had denied him bail in a money laundering case related to irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy, saying the charges against him were too serious.
