Gurdaspur News: There was a sudden rupture in the bridge leading to Babowal from Kotla Bajha Singh (Ammo Nangal) village near Batala in Gurdaspur district. Due to this, the fields of Sandalpur and Kotla Bajha Singh areas were flooded. Let it be said that due to this gap in the needle, the crops of the farmers have been damaged in a large amount.

Giving information in this regard, farmers Manpreet Singh, Dayal Singh, Mandeep Singh said that earlier due to natural disasters, there was a heavy loss of wheat crop like their sons and now only a few days ago in the paddy crop planted by them. Due to the ingress of canal water, they have suffered heavy damage.

He said that due to the sudden rupture of the needle going from Kotla Bajha Singh bridge to Babowal, Amritsar, the fast flowing water of the canal overflowed from the needle of Kotla Bajha Singh and entered the farmers’ crops. Due to this, more than 120 acres of paddy crops of farmers have been damaged.

He further said that Kotla Bajha Singh’s bridge was washed away due to high water in the canal two years ago, but the government has not yet taken any action on this bridge. Now once again due to heavy water, water has entered the crops of farmers. He said that when this canal water started entering the crops of the farmers, he informed the officials of the canal department over the phone, but no action has been taken by any administrative officer to stop it.
