Chhota Ghallughara Martyrdom: Dedicated to the martyrdom of about 11 thousand Singhs and children who were martyred in Chhota Ghallughara in 1746, a special martyrdom ceremony was organized by the District Heritage Society Gurdaspur at Chhota Ghallughara Martyrdom, Kahnuwan Chhamb. On behalf of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Finance Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa paid obeisance to the martyrs in the event.

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, he announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh from his discretionary quota to the Chhota Ghallughara monument. Apart from this, he also assured of quick approval of sewerage and other development projects of Kahnuwan, Tibar and Tugalwal villages. He also praised the district administration for maintaining the Chhota Ghallughara Martyrdom Memorial in a good manner.

Paying tribute to the martyrs of Chhota Ghallughara, Jimpa said that we will always be proud of the Sikh history of the 18th century full of sacrifices. He said that the brave warriors sacrificed themselves for the sake of religion, but they did not accept the cruel Mughal rule at all. Jimpa said that it is our duty to remember our martyrs and it is a commendable initiative by the District Heritage Society to pay homage to the martyrs of Chhote Ghallughara by organizing a special martyrdom ceremony.

District Planning Committee Chairman Jagrup Singh Sekhwaan said that this martyrdom monument is dedicated to the great martyrs of Chhota Ghallughara and through this monument the young generation is getting to know their history full of sacrifices. Punjab Health Systems Corporation Chairman Raman Bahl also paid tribute to the martyrs.

On this occasion, Bram Shankar Jimpa and other prominent personalities also visited the Martyr Gallery, Fateh Burz and Library of the museum dedicated to the martyrs of Ghallughara. Jimpa also watched a documentary film made on Chhote Ghallughara. Before this, Sri Sukhmani Sahib dedicated to the martyrs was recited and after the feast, the ragi group performed kirtan of divine hymns.

During the event, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, SSP Harish Dayma, General Secretary of District Heritage Society and former ADC. Officers including Tajinderpal Singh Sandhu and a large number of people from the area were present.
