The cardiologists of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital (GNDH), run by the Department of Medical Education and Research, performed a very difficult operation on a patient and gave him life. By inserting an artificial heart i.e. Impella in the patient’s heart, the doctors performed a successful surgery in ten and a half hours. This is the first such surgery in a government hospital of Punjab. 75-year-old patient Jodh Singh was refused surgery by two large private hospitals of the district.

Actually, this patient’s daughter Rupinder Kaur is a nurse in Guru Nanak Dev Hospital. He is an assistant professor of the cardiology department and a heart disease expert in the same hospital. Talked to Parminder Singh Mangera. Dr. Parminder saw the report and asked to bring the patient to the hospital. During the examination, it was found that the three arteries of the patient’s heart were blocked up to 99 percent. They had white calcium deposits due to which the veins had hardened. The heart was also functioning at 25 percent. The pumping of the heart was extremely low and the valves were also weak.

Dr. According to Parminder, the patient was in a critical condition. Despite this, he accepted the challenge. To keep the pulse of the patient going, a mini heart machine i.e. Impella was ordered from Mumbai. This impala was delivered to the heart through the vein of the patient’s leg. After this the process of operation started. Calcium deposits in the veins were broken up with an intravascular lithotherapy balloon. Later stunts were found.

This process lasted for ten and a half hours. After the entire procedure was completed at 12:30 pm, the mini heart sent to the patient’s heart was taken out. After this, the patient’s heart was working perfectly. At night itself, Jodh Singh himself went straight from the hospital to Sri Harmandir Sahib and thanked God. Now they are completely healthy.

37 lakh surgery was done in 19 lakh

A private hospital in Delhi had asked for Rs 37 lakh from the patient’s family members for the surgery, while it was done for Rs 19 lakh in Guru Nanak Dev Hospital. It has only mini heart of 17 lakhs which can be used only once. Dr. According to Parminder, the patient was suffering from acute myocardiology infarction. For the first time, an operation has been successfully performed in Guru Nanak Dev Hospital using Impella pump.
