Bureau Report: Another shameful act by Granthi Singh has come to light in Bathinda. Earlier, Jathedar Shri Akal Takht had taken action against the Granthi and Ragi Singhs of a Gurdwara Sahib in the case of the marriage of 2 girls. Now more than 100 fake marriages have been accused on the Granthi of Gurdwara Sahib in Hans Nagar of Bathinda. Granthi has absconded after the secret was revealed. Granthi Singh conducted the marriages of the couples in the Guru Ghar where he was serving. But he used to prepare certificates to the couples on fake letterpads of other Gurdwaras. Not only these, Granthi was so greedy for money that he could go to any extent.
Siblings got married
It has come to light that Granthi used to marry off minors as well as brothers and sisters. Most of them were couples who used to have such nefarious relationships to go abroad. These people used to pay huge sums of money to Granthi for doing contract marriages. When Shiromani Panthak Akali Budha Dal came to know about this act of Lalchi Granthi, they reached Guru Ghar where he was serving. But on getting the news of the organization’s arrival, he escaped.
This is how the whole matter was revealed
This matter came to light when a family from Rajasthan reached Bathinda in search of the accused Granthi. It came to know that a few days ago Granthi had married a boy to a girl who was his aunt’s daughter. Shiromani Panthak Akali Budha Dal 96 Crore District Jathedar Kulwant Singh when he came to know that Granthi was conducting another fake marriage, he reached there but he had already escaped. A decision has been taken to complain about this matter to the SGPC. Apart from this, Granthi’s complaint has also been made to the SSP.
Created fake letters of 2 guru homes
The accused Granthi had made fake letterpads in the name of Gurdwaras of Sanjay Nagar and Bir Talab Basti No. 6. The granthi himself used to issue marriage certificates by signing in the name of these Gurughars.
