New Delhi, Gangster Deepak ‘Boxer’, one of India’s most wanted fugitives, was brought to the national capital on Wednesday morning by the Delhi Police. The officers provided this information. He was arrested by police officers in Mexico. A two-member team of Delhi Police’s Special Cell reached Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi at 6 am with Deepak.

The team reached here from Mexico via Istanbul in Turkey. Police said Deepak would be questioned in connection with his criminal activities and alleged involvement in the murder of a builder in North Delhi’s Civil Lines area. A senior police officer said the gangster, who had won a national-level boxing championship, was trying to enter the US illegally from Mexico and was planning to operate his organized crime syndicate from Delhi and its neighboring states. Do.

Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) H G S Dhaliwal said the gangster adopted various routes to reach Mexico to fly to the US, but was trapped by the police with the help of the Office of the Legal Officer at the US Embassy in Delhi. He told that this is the first time that the Delhi Police has arrested a gangster in an operation outside the country. The police had declared a reward of three lakh rupees for giving information that would help in the arrest of Deepak.

He was operating the ‘Gogi gang’ which allegedly has links with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Dhaliwal said, “We had received information in January that Deepak had made a fake passport in the name of Ravi Antil, a resident of Bareilly, to flee the country. He boarded a flight from Kolkata to Dubai.”

He said, “Then he went from Dubai to Almaty in Kazakhstan and reached Turkey. After this he left for Spain. After taking different routes, he finally reached Mexico. “Our team was constantly tracking him,” Dhaliwali told a press conference on Tuesday.

Police said his arrest was the result of coordinated efforts by the Crime Branch and the Special Cell. He said the gangster was wanted in India in 10 sensational cases including murder and extortion in the last five years. Deepak was running the ‘Gogi gang’ after the murder of gangster Jitendra Mann alias Gogi in the Rohini court complex in Delhi. Gogi was shot dead on 24 September 2021 by two assailants. Deepak is a resident of Gannaur in Sonipat district of Haryana.
