The Punjab government is constantly taking major decisions to improve the education level of government schools. An announcement was made recently, according to which, if the number of students in government schools decreases, the DEO will be responsible for it. Under this decision, the education department has now sent different links to all the schools.

In this link sent by the department, the number of students who are absent for a long time and their details have to be uploaded. One of the reasons for this is that some students leave the government school and take admission in other schools, but they do not remove their name from the government record. Due to this, the department is not able to calculate the correct number of students.

Attendance has to be uploaded daily

The department has issued strict instructions and said that daily attendance of students should be uploaded on e-Punjab portal. The department should know in a transparent manner how many students from which village or city are coming to school daily. Along with this, the District Education Officer (DEO) has been appointed as its nodal officer. Now the number of students from pre-primary to class 12 will be registered on the portal.

Let us tell you that the first school of eminence of the state will be ready on September 13, which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains tweeted that CM Mann himself is going to inaugurate the first School of Eminence of Punjab.

Reference to the orders of the Supreme Court

Director General School Education Vinay Bublani has referred to the orders of the Supreme Court in this regard. It said that the Supreme Court had taken action at its level in the case of students dropping out of school and being absent for a long time and sought a response from the concerned departments. After this, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights filed an affidavit requesting adoption of these procedures.
