Hundreds of Indian students in Canada were suddenly barred from attending the session that began in September. Due to this, the students who are preparing to go to Canada in August and September have received a big shock. Mainly Northern College of Ontario has refused to take students for the September session and most of the students are from Punjab. About three thousand students had made full preparations to go to Canada and had also bought one-way air tickets to go to Canada, which are now non-refundable.

This matter has also been raised by some Sikh organizations in Canada and the parents of the students are also emailing the college and asking them to start their studies in September itself. A letter has also been written to Ontario’s Minister of Colleges and Universities Jane Dunlap in this matter. In view of the problems of the students, the World Sikh Organization of Canada has written to the Northern College and said that the decision to suddenly withdraw the admissions of hundreds of students is not correct.

Paid rent to live in Canada
Students started receiving e-mails to cancel admissions in early August even though they had bought expensive air tickets for August dates. Being one-way non-refundable tickets, they cannot be refunded or cancelled. Apart from this, these students have also paid the rent for living in Canada. The refund from the college will also be available only after some deduction. Medical examination and IELTS may have to be retaken in January for the next session. This will again cost thousands.
