This is being told because for the last 20 days poisonous smoke is coming out from the lignite coal mine in Matasukh. The famous Kasnau-Matasukh lignite coal project of Nagaur district is lying closed since 11 months. Open burning coal in the Matsukh mine is blowing in smoke. Even after 20 days, the solution for burning coal is not being found by RSMML.

For this reason, the breathing of the villagers is becoming difficult. RSMML is a Rajasthan government undertaking which works on coal mining. But this department neither has the means nor the resources to extinguish the coal. Because all the work of this department is done by private companies on contract.

Due to the lack of resources near RSMML, due to the smoke coming out of the mines for the last 20 days, the surrounding villages have been covered with coal smoke. It has become difficult for people to live here. No effort is being made by the department to extinguish the coal. Due to the smoke of coal, diseases have started arising.

The villagers told that due to the smoke rising in the mine, it has become very difficult to breathe. The smoke of coal burning in Matasukh Lignite coal mine is so dangerous that if a person can die. The villagers told that if the doctors are to be believed then the smoke is a kind of silent poison which is taking the villagers in its grip.

Doctor Jagdev told that the smoke of coal is dangerous for humans as well as animals. Respiratory diseases can arise due to continuous exposure to coal smoke. Like pneumoconiosis, lung fibrosis, silicosis, eye and nose irritation, many skin related diseases can occur. Fardod’s Nursing Officer Hanumanram Bhambu says that coal smoke can cause fatal diseases like asthma, asthma, brochitis, headache, lung cancer.

This case pertains to the lignite coal mine situated at Kasnau-Matsukh in Tarnau. Due to the smoke rising from this mine, people are facing this poisonous smoke.
