Bureau report : Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has now given a direct ultimatum to former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh in the matter of taking bribe from sportsmen. The Chief Minister gave Channi time till May 31 and said that if he does not share the information about his nephew and niece asking for bribe, he will give the information with full proof. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has tweeted this warning to former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann wrote in a tweet, ‘Honorable Charanjit Channi ji I respectfully give you an opportunity till May 31 at 2 pm to make public all the information about my nephew-nephew asking for bribe from a sportsperson in exchange of job… No, then May 31 at 2 pm. At o’clock I will put all the Punjabis in front of me with photos…name and meeting place.
This is the whole matter
During the Sangrur function, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that when he went to Dharamsala to watch an IPL match last week, a Punjab player told him that when he went to meet the then Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi about the job. So he sent it to his nephew. Where he was gestured to pay the bribe with 2 fingers, the next time he reached the nephew with 2 lakhs, he scolded the player and then told 2 means 2 crores. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, while directing an investigation into this, lashed out at former CM Channi and said that you say vigilance investigation is being conducted on the poor. In response to this, former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi reached the Gurdwara Sahib of Chamkaur Sahib, where he prayed and said that if he ever asked for bribe through his nephew or niece, then I will not be left behind. After which Bhagwant Mann had advised Channi to ask his niece or nephew whether they might be asking for bribe without asking you and now the Chief Minister has given a direct ultimatum. Bhagwant Mann while issuing the latest statement has given an ultimatum to Charanjit Singh Channi to make the name public till 2 pm on May 31, otherwise he will make the name and photos of that player public.
