Addressing the gathering at the launch of the one-of-a-kind initiative, the Chief Minister said, “This is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at making the bureaucracy directly accountable to the people thereby empowering the people.”

The Chief Minister said that this program will bring the administration to the doorstep of the people which will empower them in real sense. He said that this step will go a long way in ensuring optimal utilization of human resources as well as timely implementation of various welfare programmes. Bhagwant Mann said that this pro-people initiative will benefit the people a lot because they will not have to go to the government offices to get services.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that Dhuri will be developed as a model constituency across the state as this land will usher in a new era by providing state-of-the-art health services and other basic facilities. Bhagwant Mann said that the issue of Dhuri Sugar Mill will be resolved soon and the interests of the farmers will be protected in every way. He said that no stone will be left unturned to ensure the welfare of the people and the state at any cost.

Timely cleaning of water sources will be ensured- CM Hon

The Punjab CM said that natural water sources like Ghaggar will be strengthened by strengthening dams to conserve valuable water resources and revive them. He said that timely cleaning of these water sources will be ensured so that maximum use of canal water can be ensured. Bhagwant Mann said that it is the need of the hour to stop the groundwater level from going down further. The Chief Minister said that the state government is taking major steps for maximum utilization of canal water to save ground water.

He said that currently Punjab is using only 33 percent to 34 percent of its canal water and it will be increased in the coming days. Bhagwant Mann expressed hope that if Punjab can increase the use of canal water to 60 per cent in the first phase, about four lakh tubewells out of the total 14 lakh can be closed, which will help in saving water.

Appeal to farmers not to set fire to fields during paddy season

Mann urged the farmers to refrain from cultivating water-intensive paddy varieties and adopt PR-127 and 129 varieties to conserve ground water. He said that saving the precious water of the state is the need of the hour as water scarcity is a serious issue and the state has already entered the dark zone (threat level). Bhagwant Mann reiterated the firm commitment of the state government to save water for future generations.

Expressing deep concern over the incidents of field fires, the Chief Minister said that it is very unfortunate that some farmers do not hesitate to set fire to wheat crop residues just to show their stubbornness. He said that this inhuman phenomenon is a serious threat not only to them but also to their future generations and the environment.

Farmers’ organizations should not take the path of unnecessary agitation – Hon

Bhagwant Mann also appealed to farmers’ organizations not to take the path of unnecessary agitation. The Chief Minister said that when the doors of the government are always open for dialogue, these sit-ins do not serve any purpose. Giving an example, the Chief Minister said that the state government had already announced compensation to the farmers in the wake of the price cut by the central government. It is a matter of regret that despite this, some farmers’ unions have blocked the railway tracks over this demand, while their government had also fulfilled this demand.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has always listened seriously to the legitimate demands of every citizen for the interests of Punjab and its people. He said that even today he is ready to listen to the rightful demands of every section of the society. However, Bhagwant Mann said that unnecessary sit-ins and agitations without any reason are unjustified.

Uninterrupted electricity will be available in paddy season

Mentioning his government’s efforts to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the upcoming paddy season, the Chief Minister said that all arrangements have been made to meet the power demand during the paddy season. He said that 40 days of coal has already been reserved in every public sector thermal plant and agreements have been made with other states to meet the huge demand in the paddy season. Bhagwant Mann also told that P.S.P.C.L. 20,200 crore has already been paid in lieu of subsidy to various sectors.

Speaking about the power saving measures, the Chief Minister said that the timings of the government offices in Punjab were changed due to which the state government has managed to save 350 MW of electricity daily. He said that this first of its kind step will save 50 crores of electricity till July 15. Bhagwant Mann also said that with this unique step, the problem of traffic jams has been relieved to a great extent and a recent study has revealed that 7000 liters of oil is saved daily due to smooth movement of vehicles on Airport Road in Mohali. is being saved.

Gift received by Dhuri Constituency

Urging the people to be active partners in the development process, the Chief Minister invited them to monitor development projects in their respective areas to ensure proper utilization of public funds. He also informed that an SDM level officer will be posted to supervise the development works of Dhuri Constituency. Bhagwant Mann announced to upgrade the existing hospital with state-of-the-art treatment facilities besides building a trauma center for Dhuri.

The Chief Minister also said that 14 roads spanning 118 km will be given a facelift at a cost of Rs 71.36 crore and tenders for this will be issued soon. He also announced that the construction of the Railway Over Bridge (ROB) will begin soon and the state government has already deposited its share of Rs 35 crore to the Government of India for this project. He said that Dhuri Rajbahe will also be given a new look at a cost of Rs 19.50 crore.
