CM Mann awarded PSEB Toppers: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann honored the students Lovepreet Kaur, Gurankit Kaur and Samarpreet Kaur who won the top three positions in the eighth class results of the Punjab School Education Board for their proud achievement.

It is to be noted that Lovepreet Kaur, a student of Government Senior Secondary School (Girls) Budhlada (District Mansa) secured the first position by securing 600/600 marks from the eighth class, while Gurankit Kaur, a student of the same school secured the second position by securing 600/600 marks. have done Samarpreet Kaur, a student of Guru Nanak Public Senior Secondary School, Bassian (District Ludhiana), secured the third position by securing 600/598 marks.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that contrary to common perception, these students of government schools have performed well across the state, surpassing the students of private schools. He said that these girls will become role models for other students and will inspire them to excel in the field of education by getting education in government schools. Bhagwant Mann said that these girls have proved that they can reach new heights in any arena if given opportunities.

CM Mann said that under the exemplary change, it has been decided that students who score equal marks in the examinations will be given equal rank in merit. He said that now like two girl students who have scored 600 marks will now be considered for one rank and three girl students who have scored 98.6 per cent marks will come in second rank and three girl students who have scored 98.5 per cent marks will come in third rank. Bhagwant Mann expressed the hope that this will further help in empowering the girl child by encouraging them to get education.

Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is committed to provide good schooling environment for students especially girls. He said that a policy is being made to give financial rewards to the students who get high position in the results of the 5th, 8th and 10th examinations. Bhagwant Mann hoped that this would help encourage students to get better positions in the field of education.

He said that the state government has already set a new standard by providing free books and uniforms to the students. He said that the infrastructure of the schools will also be improved during the upcoming summer vacations. Bhagwant Mann said that it will help in providing students with a conducive environment for education.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann also said that the state government will also install CCTV cameras in government schools to ensure a sense of security among students. He said that this will further help in ensuring that students especially girls excel in the field of education. Bhagwant Mann said that all these efforts are to ensure that Punjab becomes the number one state in the field of education. Cabinet Minister Harjot Bains and others were also present on this occasion.
