The mother of Shubkaran Singh, a young farmer who was killed on the Khanuri border, suddenly appeared in front of the camera. Earlier it was being said that Shubkaran's mother has died. Shubkaran Singh's mother said that rumors of his death are being spread. She separated from her husband about 13 years ago due to drug addiction. She claimed that despite the separation, Shubkaran remained in constant contact with her.

His mother said that she had three children, Shubkaran was the only son, who was taken care of by his grandparents, who had also passed away some time ago. She said that she has remarried and currently lives with her in-laws. She clarified that she only came to catch a glimpse of her son's face.

It may be mentioned that the Medical Superintendent of Rajindra Hospital in Patiala, HS Rekhi, clarified that Shubkaran was hit by a bullet, while the exact cause of death is awaited to be confirmed from the post-mortem examination.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Punjab government is determined to punish those responsible for the death of Shubkaran Singh. Exemplary punishment will be ensured to those responsible for the death of this young man. He said that the person responsible for this heinous crime does not deserve any leniency and they will be punished befitting their crime.

Earlier, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced Rs 1 crore to Shubkaran's family. Along with this, Shubkaran's younger sister will also be given a government job.
