Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of 23-year-old army soldier Ajay Singh while performing his duty.

In a statement issued here, the Chief Minister said that Agniveer Ajay Singh, a resident of Ramgarh Sardars village near Khanna, was martyred in a landmine blast. Bhagwant Singh Maan said that this brave jawan sacrificed his life while performing duty in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that this is an irreparable loss for the country and especially for the family.

The Chief Minister expressed his condolences to the family of Bahadur Shaheed and said that the Punjab government is with the family in this difficult time.

He said that this martyr performed his duty with full bravery and dedication and the martyr's sacrifice will always inspire the youth. Bhagwant Singh Mann also said that financial assistance will be given to the victim's family as per the state government's policy.
