International Language Day celebrated every year on 21st February is an occasion that should be celebrated to promote our local languages which enrich our cultural heritage.
To mark the occasion, Choupal OTT organized a lively rally called 'Punjabi Jagriti March' along the roads of Punjab, starting from Phagwara and ending in Mohali. This rally passed through many cities including Banga, Nawanshahr, Balachor, Rupnagar, Ropar, Kurali, Kharar. The purpose of this rally was to highlight the cultural importance of Punjabi language for the community. 100 cars decorated with flags and placards, inscribed with slogans in support of the mother tongue, took part in the rally.
The rally halted at 3B2 Bazar in Mohali, where the artistes spoke face to face with the local audience about the importance of our mother tongue Punjabi. Hundreds of people from Punjab participated in this rally and gave proof of close relationship with mother tongue. To make this rally and this day more meaningful, we Punjabi artists Kulwinder Billa, Aarushi Sharma, Bunty Bains, Dev Kharod etc. were present. He engaged the audience and spoke about our mother tongue and how it has given meaning to his growing career.
Shri Sandeep Bansal, Founder of Choupal emphasized the importance of International Language Day and commented that “This day is more than just a celebration; It is time to reflect deeply on how our mother tongue shapes our identity. I am very proud of the beauty of the Punjabi language and its deep impact on people. It fills my heart to see the immense love and deep connection of Punjabi people with their language. Today is a day for us to unite and express gratitude to our roots.”
Popular actor of Punjabi film industry Mr. Kulwinder Billa expressed his gratitude to be a part of this event and said, “I consider it an honor. Our beloved Punjabi language has played an important role in shaping my successful career.
