The Punjab government had announced holidays in government and private schools till December 31 due to the cold weather in the state. The department has given homework of only three subjects to the students of class III to VIII. It includes Punjabi, Mathematics and English subjects.

All this process is being done under Samarth project. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the government's effort is to raise the level of education in government schools to prepare our young generation for the future. All this action is going on in the same sequence.

While they can study easily sitting with their family or relatives. They have to read a story in Punjabi and English daily from a text book or newspaper. The effort is to inculcate the habit of reading in them and also to remove their reading deficiencies. They will get to learn some good things, which will prove useful for their future.
Similarly, the Department of Education has decided that students will count the physical objects of the house every day during the holidays. Also children will guess how much stuff is in the house. Apart from this, the children should also discuss about the money transactions made by the parents. On this pretext, they will also join their family. Efforts are made for children and family members to have a good time.
In the homework that has been prepared and sent to the students by the education department, the questions of mathematics are written in English and Punjabi. So that families who do not know Punjabi can also teach their children easily. Apart from this, all the homeworks have been designed keeping in mind the easy and teachable mindset.
