ISRO Moon Mission Chandrayaan 3 Launch: Chandrayaan-3 will be launched from Sriharikota at 2.30 pm. A soft landing of the Vikram lander will be done on the South Pole of the Moon on August 23-24. The entire country has high expectations from this lunar mission of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

ISRO will land the lander on the South Pole of the Moon through Chandrayaan-3. If successful, India will become the first country to land a lander on the South Pole and the fourth country to land a vehicle on the Moon. Let us tell you that so far only Russia, America and China have been able to land on the moon.

Chandrayaan-3 will be launched from the LVM-3M4 (earlier – GSLV Mark 3) rocket designed to carry heavy satellites into space. About a month later, on August 23 or 24, the lander Vikram will make a soft landing (a safe landing on the surface with full control) at the Moon’s south pole. This part of the moon is still hidden from human sight.

Where and how to watch live streaming

The launch of LMV-3, which will carry the lander, rover and propulsion module of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, will be streamed live on ISRO’s website and official YouTube channel. On July 14, you can watch the proud moment by watching the live launch of Chandrayaan-3 here. Chandrayaan-3 is expected to make a soft landing on the lunar surface on August 23 or 24.

What is hard and soft landing?

Landing of spacecraft on the lunar surface is done in two ways, hard landing and soft landing. In a hard landing, the spacecraft crashes on the surface. Also, during soft landing the spacecraft is slowly decelerated and brought down to the surface. So far only three countries America, Russia and China have been successful in soft landing on the surface of the moon. If this mission of India is successful then the name of India will also be included in this list.

ISRO’s third lunar mission

Let us tell you that this is the third lunar mission of ISRO. Chandrayaan-1 was successfully launched in 2008, when ISRO discovered water molecules on the surface of the Moon. After this, in the year 2019, Chandrayaan-2 had a hard crash in the last moments of soft landing on the surface of the moon in September 2019.

The scientists associated with the mission were also very disappointed due to Chandrayaan’s failure. Chandrayaan-3 mission is a follow up of Chandrayaan-2. After studying the reasons why the Chandrayaan-2 mission was not successful, Chandrayaan-3 has been upgraded at several levels, to ensure the success of the mission this time.
