Chandrayaan-3: The whole world is now aware of the success of Chandrayaan-3. The successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the South Pole of the Moon has convinced the world of India’s might. So far no country has successfully landed on the South Pole of the Moon. Talking about the latest updates of Chandrayaan-3 mission, it is progressing successfully. ISRO has given a major update related to Chandrayaan-3 mission on Sunday.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Sunday released a graph of temperature changes on the moon’s surface as measured by the ‘Chest’ instrument attached to Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander. According to the space agency, the Lunar Surface Thermophysical Experiment measured the ‘temperature profile’ of the lunar mantle around the south pole to understand the thermal behavior of the lunar surface.

According to information shared by ISRO, Mount ChaSTE on the Vikram lander measured the surface temperature of the moon and it is 50 degrees Celsius. Along with this, a rapid drop in temperature was recorded on going deeper. After 80 mm had moved in, the temperature dropped to -10 degrees.

ISRO said in a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), ‘Here are the first observations of the chest payload on the Vikram lander. To understand the thermal behavior of the lunar surface, CHEST measured the temperature profile of the lunar upper soil around the poles.’ The payload carries a temperature measuring device capable of reaching a depth of 10 cm below the surface.

ISRO said, ‘It has 10 temperature sensors. The graph presented shows the variation of surface/near-surface temperature of the Moon at different depths. This is the first such record for the Moon’s south pole. Detailed observations are in progress. The payload was developed by a team led by the Space Physics Laboratory (SPL) of ISRO’s Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) in collaboration with the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad.

Taking a giant leap in space missions, India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission landed on the Moon’s South Pole on Wednesday, making the country the world’s first and successful ‘soft’ lander to land on the lunar surface. became the first country of Became the fourth country to land on the surface of the moon.
