In view of the severe winter and fog in Chandigarh, the Chandigarh administration has taken an important decision. The administration has extended school holidays.
In view of the current inclement weather and to avoid exposure of children to this extremely cold weather, there will be no classes in physical mode upto 8th standard till 20 January 2024 in any government, government aided and recognized private schools in Chandigarh.
Let us tell you that earlier the schools were to open on January 15 but now the holidays have been extended. Schools can conduct online classes for their students up to class VIII. Further, for classes 9 to 12 in all government, government aided and recognized private schools of UT Chandigarh, schools will not open for students before 9.30 AM till 20 January 2024.
Schools should take into account cold spells especially in the early morning and late evening and the time taken by children to come and go to school while regulating the timing of these classes.
