Unscheduled checking of PSPCL office Gurdaspur due to paddy season

Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO: Government of Punjab will provide 8 hours uninterrupted supply of electricity to the farmers during the paddy season and for this all necessary arrangements have been completed by Powercom. This was expressed by the State Power Minister Harbhajan Singh while talking to reporters after reviewing the preparations made by PowerCom during the paddy season with the officials at the Deputy Chief Engineer office of PowerCom in Gurdaspur in the morning.

He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had provided more than 8 hours of uninterrupted power supply to the farmers during the paddy season last year and the farmers will get uninterrupted power supply during this season as well.

Power Minister Harbhajan Singh said that he is going to Powercom offices across the state to review the power supply arrangements and under this campaign, Gurdaspur-based Powercom’s S.E. The office has been visited. On this occasion, they have given instructions to the officials to check all the power lines before June 10 and if there is any need for repair or improvement, it should be completed in time.

He said that if the load on a transformer is high or any other electrical equipment is required, then they should also be resolved now so that there is no disruption in the power supply during the paddy season. He said that the Punjab government is committed to provide uninterrupted power supply to all consumers and farmers during the summer season.

Unexpected checking reached the office of Powercom

The Power Minister reached the office of PowerCom at exactly 7:30 in the morning during which he also checked the presence of officials and staff. Meanwhile, all the officers and employees were present in the office on their duty and people had also arrived in the office to get work done in the morning.

Electricity Minister Harbhajan Singh said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Maan changed the timing of government offices from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm, where the common people have got convenience, it is also saving electricity.

On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, SSP Gurdaspur Daima Harish Om Prakash, PowerCom Deputy Chief Engineer Arvinderjit Singh Boparai and other officials of PowerCom were also present.
