Kisan Majdoor Sangharsh Committee General Secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher said that a 3-day Rail Roko Morcha will be started from September 28, the first phase of which will be started by stopping trains in Punjab. If the government does not take steps to resolve the demands, then the announcement of the next phase of train stop will be taken after the meeting of 16 organizations. Pandher said that stopping trains is not a question of indifference of organizations. The central government is responsible for the inconvenience caused to the people due to jamming of trains. If the government wants to avoid this, then the demands should be accepted in time.
On the previous day, 16 organizations from 6 states of North India announced to march to Chandigarh with demands related to the Centre. The allegations of the organizations are that the Punjab and Haryana government used police force to arrest the leaders while they were going to hold a peaceful protest. The leaders said that the organizations have now decided after a mutual meeting that 16 organizations will start a 3-day Rail Roko Morcha from September 28 with regard to all the demands and the demands of complete loan waiver of the farmers and the implementation of the Swaminathan Commission report.
