For the first time, a woman medical officer has been posted at an army operational post in the Siachen Glacier. Captain Fatima Wasim has been assigned this responsibility. His post will be at a height of 15 thousand 200 feet. The Fire and Fury Corps of the Army gave this information on Monday on social media. The Fire and Fury Corps released a video showing Fatima training at the Siachen Battle School.

The Fire and Fury Corps is officially called the 14th Corps. Its headquarters are in Leh. It is deployed on China-Pakistan borders. Also it protects the Siachen Glacier. Earlier on December 5, 2023, the Army said that Captain Geetika Kaul of the Snow Leopard Brigade had become the first medical officer. He has been posted on Battlefeed of Siachen. Its height is 15,600 feet.

Let us tell you that the Siachen Glacier is spread in about 78 km near the India-Pakistan border. It has Pakistan on one side and Aksai China on the other. In the 1972 Shimla Accord, Siachen was described as lifeless and barren. However, its boundary between India and China was not determined then.
