Cabinet sub-committee meeting with teacher organizations related to school education department

Cabinet Sub-Committee: The cabinet sub-committee with the participation of Cabinet Ministers Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, Aman Arora and Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal held a meeting with various teacher organizations related to the School Education Department and discussed their issues.

During these meetings held in a pleasant atmosphere at Punjab Bhavan, Meritorious Teachers Union, Computer Teachers Union, PSTAT Union, EGS/AIE/STR Raw Teachers Union, Raw Teachers Union, ETT TET Pass Unemployed Teachers Union, 4161 Unemployed Teachers Union, EGS/AIE /STR Pre Primary Kachhe Teachers Union discussed their respective issues in detail with the sub-committee. Most of the issues raised by the unions were related to the stabilization of services and increase in wages.

The Cabinet Sub-Committee on some of the demands of the Unions relating to stabilization of services found that a legal opinion was required to resolve these matters. The Cabinet Sub-Committee directed the School Education Department officials to hold special meetings with these unions and seek legal advice from the Advocate General’s office for legally appropriate resolution of their issues.

Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, chairman of the cabinet sub-committee, asked the officials of the education department to ensure that the demands regarding union services are resolved in such a way that they do not face any legal hurdle. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the intention of the Punjab government is to secure the services of maximum number of employees.

On salary and other issues related to the finance department, the finance minister assured the teachers’ unions that implementation of most of the demands raised by them is under process and they will soon get good news in this regard. He directed the officials of the finance department to hold meetings with the school education department and prepare recommendations regarding other financial matters in this regard as soon as possible.

Additional Chief Secretary School Education Seema Jain, Finance Secretary Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, Special Secretary School Education Gauri Parashar Joshi and Director General School Education Deepti Uppal were also present during these meetings.
