After the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee meeting, President Harjinder Singh Dhami announced this decision. He said that Sri Akhand Path Sahib will be started on June 4 at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on the occasion of Ghallughara Day and Bhogs will be offered on June 6.

The holy body of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, who was injured during the clashes, will also be kept for darshan of the devotees at Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Gurbaksh Singh ji on June 6. President Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the Sikh community can never forget the pain of the riots of June 1984. He said that this day is very serious and emotional for the Sikh community, according to the spirit of which the Sikh community will pay homage and respect to the martyrs.
