JaipurRajasthan Police has identified eight more persons allegedly involved in the kidnapping and murder of two Muslim youths from Bharatpur. Releasing the names and photographs of these people, a senior police officer said on Wednesday that all the accused are residents of Haryana, who are being actively searched in collaboration with the Haryana Police.
At the same time, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the law should take its course and the accused should be caught. Along with this, he took a dig at the ‘cow protectors’ and said that “these are anti-social elements who work in the name of Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad”.
Bharatpur’s Inspector General of Police Gaurav Srivastava said on Wednesday that on the basis of interrogation of Rinku Saini, already arrested in this case, and on the basis of technical and other evidence, so far eight people have been found to be clearly involved in this incident. “The involvement of eight persons has so far been proved by the analysis of evidence,” he said.
It is noteworthy that badly burnt bodies of Nasir (25) and Junaid (35), residents of Ghatmika village of Pahari tehsil in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, were found in a burnt vehicle jeep at Loharu in Bhiwani. Both of them were abducted a day earlier on February 15, allegedly by some ‘gau rakshaks’.

Rinku Saini, one of the five people named in the complaint lodged by the family members, was arrested by the Rajasthan Police on February 17. Saini was produced before the court on Wednesday, which remanded him in police custody till February 27. Srivastava told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, “The entire episode has been revealed to a great extent by the interrogation of the arrested Rinku Saini and many of those who were involved in the incident have also been identified.”
He told that apart from Rinku Saini, the identity of eight persons has been clearly found to be involved in this incident, in which two persons, Anil resident of Multhan and Shrikant resident of Maroda, are named along with Rinku in the FIR itself and both are residents of Nuh, Mewat. . Srivastava said that apart from these, Kalu resident Baba Ladana, Monu Rana resident Paluwas, Vikas Arya resident Safidon, Shashikant resident Munak and Gogi resident Bhiwani have also been found involved in the incident.
The official said six new names have come up and Lokesh Singla and Monu Manesar, already named in the FIR, are still suspects in the case. He said, “These are the eight people whose involvement in the incident has been found and proved. We are looking for them. The investigation is not over yet. There are dozens more people whose role is being probed.” He said that the role of Lokesh Singla and Monu Manesar is still being probed.
Srivastava said, “I will not name anyone until I reach a conclusion. Until I have enough evidence, I cannot say whether Monu Manesar is innocent or accused. Based on the complaint lodged by the family members of the victims, an FIR was lodged at Gopalgarh police station against five persons namely Anil, Srikant, Rinku Saini, Lokesh Singla and Monu Manesar.
A case was registered against the accused under sections 143, 365, 367, and 368 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police said two more IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing destruction of evidence) have been added to it. The police have found in their investigation that all the accused were running a private campaign as cow protectors to curb cow smugglers. The objective was to catch such smugglers alive along with the smuggled cattle and in the process they intercepted the Bolero car in which Junaid and Naseer were traveling. In this sequence, he thrashed both of them. Police said whether he was taken to the Haryana Police after the beating is still being probed.
He said, “Three teams of Rajasthan Police along with Haryana Police are actively searching for the accused in different areas. Their possible hideouts are being raided.” He said that on the basis of interrogation of Rinku, the vehicle carrying the victim youths was identified as a white Scorpio. The vehicle was seized from the premises of Shri Somnath Gaushala in Jind. Srivastava said, “Earlier it was known that the owner of the vehicle is the CEO of Zilla Parishad, Jind but later it was learned that the car was auctioned in 2020. Further details are being verified.”
He said, “The police of Rajasthan took blood samples etc. from this vehicle.” Srivastava said that samples of bones found from the burnt vehicle, blood and other biological samples found from scorpions and DNA samples of the relatives of both the dead youths would be sent to FSL for matching.
“We are moving forward in coordination with the Haryana Police and we are hopeful that these accused will be arrested very soon,” the official said. After his arrest, other people who have been involved in this at different levels, the person who has played a role will be revealed and then their arrests will be done in a better way.
Describing the incident as poignant in Jaipur, Gehlot said that it is less to be condemned. Along with this, he said, “I would say that the law should take its course…the culprits should be caught.” Taking a dig at those involved in the incident being ‘cow protectors’, he said, ”They work in the name of Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad..they are dishonest people…there are anti-social elements. The Prime Minister himself had said that these are anti-social elements.” (agency)
