Gold smuggling busted at Lucknow airport, 3.5 kg gold recovered

The biggest gold smuggling has been caught at Lucknow airport on the last day of the year. On Sunday, customs recovered around 4 kg of gold from two passengers. The value of gold recovered in the market is about 2 crore 55 lakh rupees.

One passenger had brought 3 kg 497 grams of gold in the coffee machine's boiler while the other passenger had hidden 554 grams of gold in his body. Both the passengers had come to Lucknow from Sharjah. The customs department received information about gold smuggling. After which they took action and recovered the gold.

During the scanning the custom was metal detected. The smugglers had hidden 3 kg 497 grams of gold in the boiler of the coffee machine. The coiler was cut and separated from the cutter machine. After which the gold was taken out. The department has not yet released the names of the traffickers. Its price in the market is more than 2 crore 20 lakh rupees. This is the first time such a huge gold smuggling has been caught in the last one year.

Let us tell you that apart from this, another passenger was caught smuggling gold on Sunday. 554 grams of gold has been recovered from it. The traveler brought the gold from Dubai by hiding it in his body. The Customs Department received information that a passenger in flight number 6E1424 was smuggling gold from Sharjah.

Based on suspicion, when the customs examined the passenger with the help of a doctor, gold was recovered from his body. The price of 554 grams of gold is said to be around 35 lakh rupees in the market.
