BCCI Awards: The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced its annual awards on Tuesday. Gill, Bumrah, Ashwin got the award
Gill has been awarded the Best Indian Cricketer for the year 2022-23. Jasprit Bumrah has received the Polly Umrigar Award for the Indian Cricketer of the Year for the year 2021-22. Ravichandran Ashwin has received this award for 2020-21. Fast bowler Mohammad Shami has received this award for 2019-20.
Sarfraz, Mayank also got honoured
Sarfaraz Khan, who is constantly shining in domestic cricket, has received the Madhavrao Scindia Award for scoring the most runs in the Ranji Trophy in the year 2021-22. Mayank Agarwal has received this award for the 2022-23 season. Rahul Dalal received this award for the 2019-20 season. Saxena has received the Madhavrao Scindia Award in the Ranji Trophy in 2022-23. Shams Mulani received the award for the 2021-22 season and Jaydev Unadkat for the 2019-20 season.
Farooq Engineer, Lifetime Award to Ravi Shastri
BCCI has decided to award Colonel CK Naidu Lifetime Achievement Award to Farooq Engineer for the year 2019-20. Ravi Shastri, the former coach and captain of the Indian team, has received this year's Lifetime Achievement Award.
Respect to women cricketers too
India's best women's all-rounder Deepti Sharma has been named Indian Cricketer of the Year in the women's category for the years 2019-20, 2022-23, while Smriti Mandhana has received the award for the years 2020-21, 2021-22. Priya Punia received the Best International Debut Woman award for 2019–20, Shefali Verma for 2020–21, S Meghna for 2021–22, and Amanjot Kaur for 2022–23.
