The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member Indian squad for the 2021 Twenty20 World Cup to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman.

In addition, the BCCI has selected three standby players who will accompany Team India. Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Aiyar have not been included in the 15-member Indian squad. Surprisingly, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuvendra Chahal have not found a place in the World Cup squad.
Considering the UAE’s pitches, the BCCI has given importance to spin bowlers and spin all-rounders. Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been included in the World Cup squad. At the same time, the BCCI has given a big responsibility to former captain MS Dhoni for the World Cup. The BCCI has appointed former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as Team India’s mentor for the 2021 Twenty20 World Cup. Dhoni is also believed to have played a key role in selecting a 15-member squad for the World Cup. Let me tell you that the Indian team will play its first match in the T20 World Cup against Pakistan. The match will be played on October 24. After that, Team India will face New Zealand on October 31, Afghanistan on November 3 and the Super 12 qualifiers (B-1) on November 5.
