Team India made history by defeating South Africa by 113 runs in the first Test at Centurion’s Super Sport Park. In fact, India has become the first country in Asia to win a Centurion.
For your information, this is the first victory of Team India in Centurion. Earlier, no Asian team had beaten South Africa in Centurion. This is the third defeat of the host team on this ground. The Indian team had given South Africa a target of 305 in the fourth innings. In reply, the hosts piled up 191 runs. In the second innings for India, Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah have taken three wickets each. On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammad Siraj have got two successes each.
With this victory, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Chasing 305, South Africa were all out for 191 on the fifth day. Captain Dean Elgar (77) is the highest run scorer for Africa in the second innings. Indian fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj also bowled well.
