In Bathinda, the shopkeepers have closed the market and are sitting on a strike in protest against the killing of Mall Road Association President Harjinder Singh Johal Mela. Shopkeepers gathered on Mall Road have now staged a dharna at Fauji Chowk. Bathinda Bandh has been called by the Chamber of Commerce today. Seeing the anger of the shopkeepers, the police have also been deployed.
Bathinda Police has released the pictures of both the miscreants. The police have announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for any information about these two. Police have also said that the identity of the informant will be kept confidential.
Let us tell you that at 5.30 pm on Saturday, miscreants on bikes shot at the fair. In this regard, SP City of Bathinda Narinder Singh said that a case under section 302 has been registered in Sadar police station. Different teams have been formed and investigations are being done from different angles. In which technical support is also being taken. Some evidence has been found in the preliminary investigation, on the basis of which efforts are being made to solve the case. Harjinder Mela has no complaints of any threatening calls. He said that the age of the accused who committed the murder was around 25 years. The shell recovered from the spot has been sent for examination, after which it will be known which weapon was used. It is too early to say whether the attackers are gangsters or not.
It is worth mentioning that Harjinder Singh Johal alias Mela, the owner of the famous Harman restaurant located on Mall Road, the largest and posh commercial area of Bathinda, was shot dead on Saturday evening. Two miscreants on a bike shot him 5 times. Harman Amritsar Kulcha owner Harjinder Singh Johal alias Mela was sitting on a chair outside his restaurant when the shooting took place.
After firing shots, the miscreants fled from there. Johal was rushed to hospital in critical condition where he died. Johal was also the President of Mall Road Market Association of Bathinda.
