Lucknow: The Rampur Public School, run by the Jauhar Trust of Samajwadi Party (SP) national general secretary Azam Khan, was sealed by the Rampur district administration on Tuesday. The school management was asked to vacate the premises within 15 days by serving a notice on February 16. In the past, the lease of its land was canceled by the administration.
A senior official of the district administration said that the manager of Johar Trust was given several notices asking him to vacate the Rampur Public School. “Since it was not vacated, we have sealed it,” he said.

It is noteworthy that during the Samajwadi Party rule, the government building of Jail Road Jail Road in Rampur was leased to Azam Khan’s Jauhar Trust at the rate of Rs 100 per annum for 99 years.
Khan had won the Rampur Sadar seat in the 2022 assembly elections, but in November last year, his assembly membership was terminated after he was sentenced to three years in a hate speech case in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
