ED AAP MLA from Amargarh of Punjab Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra (Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra) was arrested in the case of fraud of 41 crore rupees. Late at night in custody, his health suddenly deteriorated. After which he was admitted to PGI. He is admitted to bed number 17 in the CCU of the Advanced Cardiac Center.
Gajjan Majra is the same MLA who announced to take only one rupee salary citing the poor economic condition of Punjab. When he was arrested, he was meeting with the newly appointed block presidents at the party office.
Borrowed from banks but used elsewhere
The ED raided the premises of Tara Haveli in Sangrur, Tara Convent School, Tara Golden Homes and Tara Feed Industries in Malerkotla in September last year. Sources have learned that Tara Corporation Limited is the parent company of all these business ventures and is owned by Gajan Majra, his brothers and other family members. Their family members had taken several loans between 2011 and 2014 but according to ED and CBI investigations, the loans were not used for the purpose for which the money was taken from the bank. At the time the loan was taken, Gajan Majra was one of the directors of the companies.
The firm hid its stock through its directors and manipulated loans with bad intentions. Due to this, the bank has suffered a loss of Rs 40.92 crore. Gajjan Majra has been brought to the ED office in Jalandhar and is being interrogated. It may be mentioned that a week ago, ED raided the house of AAP MLA Kulwant Singh from Mohali. A week later, the ED has arrested an AAP MLA in Punjab. This action has been taken at a time when the Aam Aadmi Party is making a fuss over the ED’s action.
