Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday lauded the contribution of Punjab in the field of sports and hoped that necessary steps would have been taken in the last four and a half years against drug menace in the state. Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, he said that it was said before the last assembly elections in Punjab that the state would be freed from the grip of drugs.
