Anganwadi workers and helpers will soon be released an honorarium of Rs 8.2 crore to cover maximum beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. This was expressed by the Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur

Giving more information in this regard, the Cabinet Minister said that the government is continuously making efforts to make life easier for pregnant women and lactating mothers.

The Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development said that the government is giving Rs.5000/- in two installments (Rs.3000+2000) to pregnant women on the birth of their first live child from the year 2023 as per the new guidelines.

Giving more information, Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that in all 27314 Anganwadi Centers of Punjab State, after filling the forms of the beneficiaries, an amount of Rs. 5000/- is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

To further encourage Anganwadi workers and helpers and provide maximum benefit of the scheme to the eligible beneficiaries, honorarium of Rs.100/- per beneficiary to Anganwadi workers and Rs.50/- per beneficiary to Anganwadi helpers.

Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that I hope that with this honorarium, the Anganwadi workers and helpers will be more motivated to help the eligible beneficiaries under this scheme. He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann is committed to the welfare of women in the state.
